Applicants for RBLP certification must currently serve in a front-line supervisor role or have three years of work experience.
Front-line supervisor work experience defined.
Front-line supervisors provide guidance and direction to workers. They set priorities for workers and oversee their activities. Front-line supervisors organize people to work in teams and may work alongside subordinates as a member of the team. They monitor performance and enforce policies, rules, and regulations. Front-line supervisors have applicable technical expertise and can provide on-the-job training to workers.
Correlation of front-line supervisor work experience to military paygrades.
U.S. military personnel (or AU, NZ, UK, and CA equivalents) currently serving at paygrades E4 and E5 are eligible for RBLP certification. Military veterans that have previously served at these paygrades are also eligible.
During the 1.5-hour oral RBLP certification exam, the applicant is required to show competence of factual (what), conceptual (why), and procedural knowledge (how) in each of the following competency domains:
RBLP Recertification Requirements: Recertification is required every three years. Applicants are required to schedule and attend the RBLP Recertification Course conducted via video conference and pay the recertification course fee (currently $55) in order to keep their RBLP certification current.
Organizations need middle managers that can build resilient teams and facilitate team learning. Demands for process improvement and innovation are commonplace. Adapting to change means that teams must learn new policies, processes, and procedures. Facilitating team learning is essential for problem-solving.
Applicants for RBLP-C certification must currently serve in a middle manager role or have previously served in a middle manager role.
Middle manager work experience defined.
Middle managers are responsible for objectives and results in a functional department. They may provide guidance and direction to one or more front-line supervisors. Middle managers facilitate team learning and problem-solving. They establish goals for teams in their departments and monitor progress. Middle managers have significant relevant expertise and experience. An organization may have multiple layers of middle management.

U.S. military personnel (or AU, NZ, UK, and CA equivalents) currently serving at paygrades O1, O2, W1, and E6, are eligible for RBLP-C certification. Military veterans that have previously served at these paygrades are also eligible.
During the 2.5-hour oral RBLP-C certification exam, the applicant is required to show competence of factual (what), conceptual (why), and procedural knowledge (how) in each of the following competency domains:
RBLP-C Recertification Requirements: Recertification is required every three years. Applicants are required to schedule and attend the RBLP-C Recertification Course conducted via video conference and pay the recertification course fee (currently $75) in order to keep their RBLP-C certification current.

Applicants for RBLP-T certification must currently serve in a senior leader role or previously served in a senior leader role.
Senior leader work experience defined.
Senior leaders are responsible for cross-functional objectives and results. They may provide guidance and direction to one or more middle managers. Senior leaders support organizational learning and change. They develop and implement strategies to achieve the organization's vision. Senior leaders have substantial relevant expertise and experience. An organization may have multiple layers of senior leadership.
Correlation of senior leader work experience to military paygrades.
U.S. military personnel (or AU, NZ, UK, and CA equivalents) currently serving at paygrades O3 and above, W2-W5, and E7-E9 are eligible for RBLP-T certification. Military veterans that have previously served at these paygrades are also eligible.
During the 3.5-hour oral RBLP-T certification exam, the applicant is required to show competence of factual (what), conceptual (why), and procedural knowledge (how) in each of the following competency domains:
Support Organizational Learning
RBLP-T Recertification Requirements: Recertification is required every three years. Applicants are required to schedule and attend the RBLP-T Recertification Course conducted via video conference and pay the recertification course fee (currently $95) in order to keep their RBLP-T certification current.
